FNP/PA Program
Welcome to UC Davis! Student Health Services is conveniently located on the UC Davis campus and provides students with wellness, illness, and injury care. The services at SHS are AVAILABLE TO ALL registered students regardless of insurance coverage. Students pay small fees for most services. Medical Entrance Requirements
Students are required to complete the Medical Entrance Requirements upon entry to the UC Davis FNP/PA Program. Student Health Services must receive all documentation by June 1, 2009. Those who fail to meet clearance are subject to holds on enrollment, classroom activity, and/or financial aid.
Health Insurance Requirement
The University of California requires that all students have health insurance. To help you meet the Health Insurance Requirement, UC Davis automatically enrolls all registered students in the Student Health Insurance Plan (SHIP). Fees for SHIP coverage are charged to your student account each term along with your registration fees.
SHIP coverage for new FNP/PA students begins on June 29, 2009 and costs $286 for the summer (through September 20, 2009). Fall quarter coverage will begin September 21, 2009. For information about coverage dates and costs for 2009-2010, go to SHIP: Cost and Dates of Coverage page.
- If you want to be enrolled in SHIP, you are automatically enrolled — no action is required.
- If you have comparable insurance and do not want to be enrolled in SHIP, you must apply for a SHIP waiver by June 29, 2009. If your waiver is approved, your SHIP enrollment will be waived through the end of the 2009-2010 academic year. The services at Student Health Services are available to all students, even if you waive SHIP.

PLEASE NOTE: Your summer costs and waiver deadline are specific to new FNP/PA students. If you do not file a waiver by June 29, 2009, you will be charged a non-refundable fee for the summer SHIP coverage. If you miss this deadline, you may still apply for a waiver for the 2009-2010 academic year by the fall quarter deadline.
