Changes to the SHIP 2009-2010 Academic Year Plan

Benefit Changes for 2009-2010
The Student Health Insurance Plan Committee would like to give you an update regarding health insurance benefits for SHIP members for the 2009-2010 school year. We are very pleased to announce the following benefit additions to your plan, effective Fall 2009:
Dental Plan
- When you visit a Delta Dental PPO dentist, your dental plan maximum will be $850 (instead of $750). Please Note: Your annual maximum benefit increase only applies to visits to Delta Dental PPO dentists, otherwise your annual maximum benefit remains the same at $750.
Medical Plan
- Transgender benefits have been added to SHIP in the amount of $75,000 lifetime maximum benefit.
- Chiropractic benefits have been increased to a maximum of 10 visits covered at 80% in network.
Vision Plan
- SHIP members will continue to receive the same vision benefits from last year.
Students will continue to receive all primary care from Student Health Services at Cowell Student Health Center. When students are referred for care beyond the health center, SHIP pays 80% of in-network covered expenses (50% out-of-network) after the annual deductible.
