Cost and Dates of Coverage
(Academic Year: Fall 2008 - Summer 2009)
Cost of SHIP Coverage (for registered students):
- Undergraduate Students: $286 per quarter (Fall, Winter, and Spring).
- Graduate Students: $618 per quarter (Fall, Winter, and Spring)
- Law Students: $927 per semester (Fall and Spring)
- PELP/Filing Fee/Graduating Students and Students who withdraw or cancel registration: (see below)
SHIP fees are charged to your student account each quarter (law students each semester) along with your registration fees. You will be required to pay these fees and will be covered by SHIP unless you have an approved waiver application on file with Student Health Services at Cowell Student Health Center.
Dates of SHIP Coverage
For some student groups, SHIP coverage begins on dates different from those listed below, based on the dates that their academic programs begin. Examples of this are FNP/PA, MPVM, and 1st year Veterinary students. Check the information for your student group on the new students page if your academic program begins on a different date than the beginning dates of coverage listed below.
Quarter Students:
- Fall Quarter 2008 September 22, 2008 - January 1, 2009
- Winter Quarter 2009: January 2, 2009 - March 25, 2009
- Spring Quarter 2009: March 26, 2009 - June 14, 2009
- Summer 2009*: June 15, 2009 - September 20, 2009
Law Students:
- Fall Semester 2008: August 18, 2008 - January 11, 2009
- Spring Semester 2009: January 12, 2009 - May 17, 2009
- Summer 2009*: May 18, 2009 - August 16, 2009
*Summer Coverage: Your spring SHIP fee provides coverage through the end of summer.
If you cancel your SHIP Waiver:
If you cancel your SHIP waiver and enroll in SHIP, your effective date of coverage is the date indicated on your approved waiver cancellation request. For more information, call the Insurance Services message line at 530.752.6055.
